My Little Chi, SweetPea

Well this story is about how I got SweetPea, My son Michael had a little Chi named Peaches. He came to visit me and of course I fell in love with her and my son was like Mom I think you need one it will help you with your Panic Attacks at first my head was like no..The  more time I spent with his dog Peaches. It convinced me that I needed a little one. Since no one really wanted to spend alot time with me since I got sick. So he started looking on the internet for one. He found one that was a male and I was like no. I could imagine him in my mind lifting his little leg up all over the place and widdling LOL is that how you spell it.???? anyways so he was ok mom..and kept looking. Then he called and said there's this little girl one Mom and he called and things went into the works. I couldn't wait to get her home..they had to travel a distance to get her so the Lady met them half way. It took some doing but we got her..I waited patiently will they went.
This was the picture they had sent me from the phone. to cute. It made more excited to get her.

Awe this is the day she finally got home. Mom said to name her tinkerbell. but it didn't fit to me, so I named her SweetPea cause she was just so tiny and sweet, really shy. All the rest our of her growing the first year.

She is just so sweet and she has helped me through my two years of Panic Attacks. She sleeps with me every night she climbs in the covers and goes down to the bottom. And every once in a while I find her sleeping next to me like my kid..that's o funny.

This is Sprinklesz who thought she was suppose to sleep in SweetPeas bed. She is so fat though she barely fit, and SweetPea was like can you move over this is my bed..It was so hilarious,
They ended up going to sleep together...lol.....
This is another day SweetPea was like hey buddy whats up.
SweetPea and Isabella, They took well to SweetPea is took a few weeks but now they are best friends.
LoL this is the three of them all together..sleeping on my travel bag at moms. Can you believe the two cats being so tolerate her laying on the top of them.
This is one day I was looking for something in the cabinet below and I went to turn to do something else and when I turned back there she was pepping out..I love her to death she has some personality for sure. she is not so shy like the first day she got very busy and active. Course being around the grandchildren helped that.

This is her getting ready to go out and the upper one is her just chilling up next to the computer before we moved..Well my Biscotti is done and I have to take them out and cool them. Tomorrow I will post the recipe for that from Paul Deans Magazine. this was my first attempt to make these.
(By the way Peaches got hit by a car several months back R.I.P. PEACHES, it was such a sad day for all of us including SweetPea they always played together we even babysat Peaches for one weekend..I will add her pictures maybe tomorrow..

Albondigas (Meatballs) in Spicy Tomato Sauce

I decided to make this tonight only to discover I didn't have every ingredients that was needed so I emphasized. I think it came out good so far Mom and Victoria liked it..and SweetPea was busy trying to get a taste..But I just don't give her everything one because this was in a red sauce w/onions and chili. So the real test will be if its still there by morning. well here goes the recipe...

Makes about 16 meatballs
Meatball Ingredients:
  • 4 Hard-boiled Eggs
  • 1 lb. Lean ground beef
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 Medium white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin, or to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed dried parsley or finely chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 Cup flour
  • 1/4 Cup bread crumbs
  • Olive oil, for frying
Sauce Ingredients:
  • 4 Roma tomatoes
  • 1/2 Medium white onion, quartered
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 Habanero Chile peppers
  • 350g Tomato puree
  • 1 Cup chicken broth or bullion
  • 8 Mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed dried parsley or finely chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Meatball Directions:
Hard-boil the 4 eggs ahead of time and cool. Peel off shells and cut eggs in half.  Mixing by hand, combine the ground beef, 2 beaten eggs, onion, garlic, 2 tablespoons bread crumbs, cumin, cayenne, parsley, and salt and pepper to taste
Mix the flour and 1/4 cup bread crumbs together and set aside.
Completely cover each half of a hard-boiled egg with some of the meatball mixture, making 8 large meatballs. there should be enough meatball mixture remaining to make 8 regular medium-sized meatballs.

Roll each meatball in the flour and bread crumb mixture until thoroughly covered.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat. Fry the meatballs in two batches until cooked through and browned. Remove the meatballs from the skillet.

Sauce Directions:
In a blender, combine the tomatoes, onion, garlic, chiles, and tomato puree and blend until smooth. Pour the sauce into a medium heavy-bottomed pot set over medium high heat.

Add the chicken broth/buillon and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Add the mushrooms, parsley, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until mushrooms are tender.
Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer, covered, about 15 minutes.

Serve hot with red rice, beans, and warm corn tortillas.

I forgot to take the rest of the pictures, so sorry that's what happens when you are tired. I hope that you try this
I liked it. Enjoy.

well this post is about yesterday going to the second hand store with mom and my daughter Victoria, I was tired as you can see by my picture, but I couldn't pass it up cause we had a 30% discount ticket..so what can I say. Though I didn't fine much and Victoria was disappointed for sure, she only found one sweater. I found a few things one of which I wished they had more of,..these two lovely coasters with roses on them for one.

I thought they were adorable.  I also found this pink w/gold I guess you would say dish that looks like a boat. I had one once before but a little bit larger but it got broke which made me sad..but I found this one yesterday. This one has more gold than the other one did. but just the same I was happy to find it.

I'm not sure what they were used for. but I love this ceramic, I think it was for plants. I asked mom and she couldn't remember. I have a few things like this which I will post later on. Well I just went to check it out. It is for use of a planter It was $2.99 and 30% off of that. When I went to look them up on google  they post about $17.50 for a small one.
I also got a short pair of purple little boots..brand new for $6.50 oh and by the way my two little coasters were only $99 cents.

I thought they were cute....o I did get some other items. another blue vase because you can never have enough and another sewing basket

and the last thing is a white and purple laced towel..so cute.

I also got a pair of sweats and a rug..but I think that its. for now. hugs

My Kitchen

I hope that I'm not boring you. But I just want to get you familiar with me. So here is the little kitchen in my new flat. I have blue blue and more blue. I did think of changing it to red but when I really thought of it I have so much blue items and ducks that I collected for a life time lol maybe I better stick to the blue, though I do have some red things, but no where near.

Here is the right side of the kitchen later I will show you some close ups of my favorite things.

Here is my kicthen window over the sink, with some of my blue glass and my vintage curtains which I really wish I had the other parts to. But I figured that I would find some thing to match.  So far I haven't had any luck. It's a sheer with little white poka dots on it..I love the little multi colored flowers on them they are blue and turquoise and lime. My little kitchen is full but I love everything in it and I have no problem being in it cooking. So I guess thats enough about my kitchen for now.

My New Little Flat

Here's some photos of the inside of my flat. The Living Room is complete except for the curtains, I want to change them but I don't have the pieces that I really want. So I have to figure it out. Everything I have in there has come from a second hand store except for my old console T.V. and my Wing Back chair those came from my father (R.I.P.) Which is another blog. I recently obtained some burgundy colored sheers so I'm thinking to add them and changed the valances. I wish I had two of the swag ones and one more of the heavy panel ones. But second hand ladies can't always have their choice..lol..

humm, I think the other day I deleted some of my photos so I will have to retake some this isn't a very good one of the living room. Here is some of my pink glass that I have in the living room. I have more but it's packed up and I'm hoping this summer when we clean out moms storage that I will get a cabinet and have to move my desk somewhere else (which I don't know where) That's the bad part about having a smaller place and to much stuff..but the good thing is I have my own little storage but it doesn't quite hold all my things..and I really don't like storing my things. whats the point of having them it you can't enjoy them. I use all my glass etc. more to come....

My passion Cooking and Baking

Well here goes number three post:
It's a recipe that I recently found and I adore it. I was surfing one day which I do a lot because I get so terribly bored. I found this recipe on a Italian cooks page..It might sound strange to you but after I made it I loved it. I could have eaten the whole cake which I think I almost did..well here it goes

Here is the picture I took of the one I made. The original didn't have the glaze on it. I kind of added that to it. Which in my opinion did it justice.

Recipe as follows:

Lemon Blueberry Yogurt Cake w/ Rosemary:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup sugar
Grated zest of 1 lemon
1/2 cup plain Greek nonfat yogurt
3 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tbsp fresh chopped rosemary leaves

1 pint of blueberries
1 tbsp flour to mix with the blueberries

Preheat oven to 350F. Generously butter an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.

Put the sugar and zest in a medium bowl and rub the ingredients together until the sugar is fragrant.

Whisk in the yogurt, eggs, rosemary and vanilla.

When the mixture is well blended, gently whisk in the dry ingredients.
Fold in the oil. The batter will be thick and shiny.

Add a tablespoon of flour to the blueberries in a bowl to coat (so they don't sink to the bottom) and carefully mix into batter.

Using a rubber spatula, scrape into loaf pan.

Bake about 50-55 minutes until done.
Cool on rack about 10 minutes.

You can sprinkle with powdered sugar if you like

I hope that you try it...I was very happy with this recipe...Enjoy!!!!

My Little Garden

Well I thought the next step would be to share my garden with you. Since I adore the garden so much. It's really not much of a site at the moment, but just the few little changes I have made made a huge difference at least to me..it was like a small jungle before. When I first moved in there was a Chinese Family up stairs. They were wonderful people very warm and loving..but they had the whole garden from one side to the other filled up with a vine vegetable called Chayote Like a lite green Squash. I love it, the Chayote, but not so much to have two plants fill the garden. Well they moved out, which I was really sad about because I felt so comfortable with them. You hardly knew they were there. Anyways so I started tearing down the vines which had produce all it was going to, and boy was that a task, It started on one side going around to the other they tied it with tiny wires ropes etc., lol, in fact I'm still undoing the little things..I have three trees two of which are I can't believe it I can't remember the name of it at the moment. ( This is one of the things I gained when I got sick with Panic Disorder, Loss of memory). Well when I remember I will tell you..I love these trees, but what I don't love about it is lately the wind has been blowing greatly and all the lovely fuchsia colored flowers are everywhere and I believe I had to clean them at least five times already.Yuk.....and double Yuk..I'm alittle bit of a clean freak...lol..but I just can't help it. I need clean even the garden has to be cleaned. Even to the point every little weed has to be pulled and the dirt looks clean. That's terrible I know, but what can I say!

Well like I said it isn't much at the moment but in time. So I will keep you posted as it grows..I have planted a few more things but we got delayed because they decided to paint the building and I'm ever so grateful for that because it looked horrible. Actually that red post is now a gray blue post lol..looking much better. Hum I should have took a before photo of the house..O well ..Enjoy the day...

Mz. Witherspoon

She's a beautiful warm strong Victorian Woman with a heart of gold. Who would love to share her passions with everyone. She longs for many things to do. She got sick a couple of years ago with Panic Disorder and it changed her life forever. She has a little Chi and her name is SweetPea. She has kept Mz. Witherspoon company since she got sick. Now she is much better and wants to pursue new avenues. So Blogging will be her new challenge. So please bare with her as she learns how to do this. Reasoning for this is cause she has gotten bored with the simple web places like facebook etc. So here is to a beautiful San Francisco Morning looking out on the bay. There's somewhat of a breeze this morning and the sun is shimmering across the water. It's all ruffly  looking. but so clear you can see directly clear across over to the Oakland Hills...I thought we were going to have warm weather like the news had said. But you know them it's never really correct. but this will do, except for the wind..I recently moved back here from across the bay myself. And I live in a little flat here which I love, though I'm not to happy about my new neighbor with her little girl who leaps across the upstairs floor and jumps off the beds and makes my things shake on the wall. I worry because I have my Antique shelf which hold many little precious things. The great thing about my new flat it the glorious garden. I'm trying to transform it which will take time for lack of funds and my broken bones..But slowly and surely we will reach our goal..I'm not sure were to go from here..but this is my beginning wishing you an enchanting lovely day.. I often feel that I was born in the wrong Era, If I had been born in the Victorian Era, this is the lady I would have loved to have been.
